Yucks festivals

Not to be a dampener, but I kinda have a love/hate relationship with festivals. During festivals, I feel the pressure, the pressure to be joyous and happy. The stress is on. Pressured. I feel like I have a responsibility to enjoy myself, be filled with laughter. Like birthdays, I hate birthdays. Or my birthday to be exact. Cause I have such high expectations for the day, everything must go well, be perfect. And most of the time, I end up in tears. But cmon, are festivals the only you are "supposed to" be happy?? Shouldn't it be all the time?

13 Dec 2014

Years from now, you will realise that the things you held dear, were all trivial to the core.
all of those silly little things you cared about meant nothing, and the naive quest for perfection was a giant fucking waste of time.
i wish you well on your pursuit of being.

2014 is gonna end soon. And usually I will look back and reflect, yadah yadah. But this year, I decided I shall not. Not gonna look back. I just wanna look forward, forward to the future. Perhaps 2014 wasn't that great a year. Or maybe I phrased it wrongly. But don't get me wrong, I'm not some ungrateful person. But I can't help but feel that the year just floated by. Days passed and geez, suddenly its the end of the year?? Once again, I am lacking the christmas feel. How depressing right. Thats why I am just gonna look forward to 2015 now. Not gonna turn back and trip on the past.

Vera Nails

In Australia, most of the nail parlours just offer very basic services and their nail designs definitely weren't as fancy or detailed. Thus, the moment I arrived in Singapore, I decided to give my boring nails a makeover! Headed down to a very cosy nail parlour located at

Vera Nails
18 Jalan Membina #02-01
(opposite Tiong Bahru Plaza)

Spent almost 3 hours sitting there. To be honest, I usually lack the patience and will start fidgeting or just "give up" and go for a simple one-colour polish. But this time, I managed to sit all the way till the end and it was definitely worth it.

Each and every individual nail was carefully designed and patiently decorated. Honestly, I have so much respect for Vivien, who did my nails. Watching her patiently fill in the designs with such detail.

Taadaaa! Loving my nails a lot!
And best thing, it matches most of my outfits!

Quote my name for 10% off when you visit Vera Nails!

Time to pamper yourself! :)

Daniel Wellington #OOTD

I'm currently a proud owner of not just one, but two Daniel Wellington watches. And my journey with these watches have been nothing short of awesome.

The latest addition to my collection is this baby, the Classy Sheffield in Silver.

Was going for a minimal simplistic look (think black, white and simple) that day and what better accessories to match my outfit than my Daniel Wellington watch. Don't get me wrong though, the watch does not only compliment the "minimal simplistic" look. It is actually so versatile, definitely suitable for even as a everyday watch.

My outfit details that day, in the pictures above. ^

My DW watch has become a part of my everyday life, an essential.  I feel that its always important to keep track of time. Sometimes we get too busy and distracted, we lose track of how time is ticking away and how once gone, it will never come back.

Do check out the official Daniel Wellington website for other designs. And if you love DW timepieces as much as I do, just letting you know that they offer free shipping worldwide. :)

Check out my previous two blogposts here and here

Till the next time~

Daniel Wellington

"Time flies with you." - Mitch Albom, The Time Keeper

Sometimes simple is always the best and less is more. I used to think that for accessories, the more the better. But these days, I've learnt to slowly appreciate simplicity at its best.

Daniel Wellington watch collection consists of classic and timeless pieces which compliments every outfit. And that's why I've always had a soft spot their timepieces.

If you remember, I previously got the Classic York Lady in Rose Gold and blogged about it here
This time, I decided to go for a smaller watch face, the Classy Sheffield in Silver. Something much more feminine this time!

Okay, I admit, I fell in love at first sight with the index made up of Swarvoksi crystals. ;)

How can I not love this piece which matches with all of my outfits and suitable for both daily use or even formal events!

You can check out Daniel Wellington's watch collection for both men and women at their official website!

Also, Daniel Wellington offers free worldwide shipping!
Buy it for yourself or a loved one. <3

Try to imagine a life without timekeeping. You probably can’t.
 -Mitch Albom, The Time Keeper

Caution!

It always good be careful who you entrust your heart to. Call it fussy, picky or whatever, who cares. But don't be reckless, don't be foolish. Be sure to know what you want, and that its not just to fill up that empty feeling temporarily. People hurt, people have feelings. Gotta learn your lessons. Cause when you give your heart to someone, you are giving them the freedom to crush it whenever, or to embrace it. You're letting that person into your life and be a part of it. It may be just for a short time, or for a really really long time. But still, its sorta almost everything in you. When you give, give it all, otherwise, I think it's better not to give at all.

Danang

Visited Danang (Central Vietnam) for a short getaway with the family during the one week break back in Singapore. You've probably haven't heard of the place before, but its such a beautiful place, untouched and still filled with lots of culture and heritage. Definitely a place I would highly recommend to visit, especially if you love beaches, and seen the pictures I've uploaded on Instagram.

Dress from Petiterose.

The hotel was beyond beautiful and this was what we saw every morning when we woke up! The hotel itself has 6 swimming pools and its pristine beach. Three nights there definitely wasn't enough. My sister and I kinda had difficulty leaving the place…

Top from Ashincans.

We also took a half hour bus ride to Hoi An, a UNESCO site.

Visited the local wet market which my parents enjoyed ALOT. Maybe cause it reminded them of olden day singapore? Sometimes, happiness does not necessarily means spending lots of money or having lots of money. Seeing these local people, they are probably as happy as us. In fact, they might be luckier. Since the slightest things makes them really happy.

Ventured out at night for dinner at the local town instead of just staying at the hotel. It was definitely an experience, since there was a communication barrier. But we still managed to order our dishes, though some weren't as appetising.. : ? But still, it was fun. No regrets at all!

The night view while taking off from Danang. It was a lovely place~ Thank you…
